Account Creation 

  1. To create an account, click on the Create New Account button on the top right corner of the Zero Suicide Training pages. This is a separate account than one you may have created for the Zero Suicide website. 

  2. Populate your information.   

What’s an organization code?  
Note that the Organization Code field is required, but most users will select N/A. We work with organizations to help track their staff completions. Those organizations should communicate with their staff directly if their staff are expected to use a code, and what code to use.  
If you are an organization interested in working with us to track your staff completion data, please contact us for more information.  

  1. Once you’ve populated each required field, click the Create My New Account button.  

  1. A confirmation email will follow with the link to verify your new account.  
    If you do not receive an email within a few minutes, please check your spam or junk folder.  If you do not receive a confirmation email, please email zsionline@edc.org 

Completing the Course 

To receive a certificate of completion, you must do the following:  

  • Complete each lesson in the course, including the introduction. 
  • Pass the posttest with a score of 80% or higher. 
  • Answer the feedback survey questions.  

The checkmark across from each section on the course landing page will turn green when you have completed it.  

Why are the checks not turning green? 
If you are going through each section of each lesson and the checks are not changing / your progress is not being registered, kindly ensure: 

  • You are scrolling to the bottom of each section in each lesson in its entirety.  
  • You are on a laptop or desktop computer using a current version of a supported browser: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera 
  • You have cleared your browser cookies and cache 

Optional Resources are not required for the course completion. 

Certificate of Completion 

It may take up to 24 hours to generate your certificate of completion once you finish the course. Once a certificate is generated, it can be viewed or downloaded at any time in the Certificates section of your profile.  

We do not offer continuing education credits for any of our courses.  
Check with your professional organization to find out if you can receive credit. 

  

Common Issues & Self-Directed Troubleshooting 

Your progress isn’t being registered / Checks are not turning green 

If you are going through each section of each lesson and the checks are not changing / your progress is not being registered, kindly ensure the following before reaching out: 

  • You are scrolling to the bottom of each section in each lesson in its entirety. 
    This includes everything from the introduction to completing the feedback survey.  
  • You are on a laptop or desktop computer using a current version of a supported browser: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera. 
    Mobile devices are not yet currently supported for our courses and may not save your progress through the course. 
  • You have cleared your browser cookies and cache. 

 

Re-Taking the Course:  

The information on your certificate is incorrect or out of date. 

To generate a corrected or updated certificate of completion, you must un-enroll and re-enroll in the course.  

If you are correcting information, such as name, update this before un and re enrolling in the course: Navigate to your profile page, edit it via the gear icon in the top right area of the page, update or correct the necessary information, then save.   

Unenroll from the course via the landing page, pictured below.

Confirm, and then Re-enroll by navigating back to the course via the dashboard.  
When you retake the course, it will generate a new certificate you can download via your certificates page. 

 

Resetting Your Password 

To reset your password, please use the Forgot Password form, also linked in the Log-in page.  
Note that Passwords must be at least 8 characters long, must have at least 1 lower case letter, at least 1 upper case letter, and at least 1 non-alphanumeric character such as *, -, or #. 

If you do not receive an email within a few minutes, please check your spam or junk folder.  If you do not receive the password reset email, please email zsionline@edc.org
